Chocs, Soaps & Candles of Argyll & the Isles - the perfect Christmas gifts!

Chocs, Soaps & Candles of Argyll & the Isles - the perfect Christmas gifts!
Chocolates, soaps and candles make the perfect Christmas gifts, especially when they’re hand made by local people who are passionate about their products. Argyll & the Isles is home to a vibrant community of artisan makers, producing a fabulous array of mouth-watering chocolates, sumptuous soaps and cracking candles. As the map shows, you’ll find them in all corners of Argyll, from the remote Hebridean island of Tiree to the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. This festive season avoid the crowds and enjoy Christmas shopping for chocs, soaps and candles in Argyll. Most of the Argyll makers featured in the map also sell their products online.

Chocolates
Chocolates are guaranteed to put a smile on anyone’s face on Christmas morning. The Oban Chocolate Company shop on Oban’s Esplanade is a chocaholic’s dream. On Mull, Tobermory Chocolates makes sublime artisan chocolates using the finest ingredients. Visit Arlene's Coffee Shop, also on Mull, for a fabulous selection of hand-made chocolates. Caramiche Chocolaterie in Dunoon offers an exquisite range of luxury chocolates. CocoaMo handcrafts chocolates in Helensburgh, taking inspiration from Argyll’s natural larder. On Tiree, Chocolates & Charms is a unique wee shop selling delicious chocolates made on the island. For those with an even sweeter tooth, nothing hits the spot like Scottish tablet. An Gleann Tablet on Islay and the Scottish Tablet Company in Kintyre both make melt-in-your-mouth tablet.

Soaps
Soap is one of life’s essentials, but should also be one of life’s little luxuries. That’s why it makes such a great Christmas gift. The Isle of Mull Soap Co makes natural soaps in Tobermory. Out on Islay, Spirited Soaps includes a range of soaps featuring the Hebridean island’s famous malt whiskies. Lomond Soap is both lovely and ethical, being completely palm-oil free. Purdie’s of Argyll has shops in Oban, Lull and Inveraray. The luxurious soap features organic, wild-harvested ingredients.

Candles
If there’s one way to create a glowing festive ambiance, it’s with candles. Visit the Zing Organics workshop in Tarbert, Loch Fyne to discover eco perfumes, candles and room mists made entirely with organic and natural materials. Isle of Bute Candles are hand-crafted on nearby Bute. The shimmering handmade candles by KMR Candles in Strachur provide some seasonal sparkle.
