Beer, Music, Food and Argyll: Why FyneFest is the festival for you!

Beer, Music, Food and Argyll: Why FyneFest is the festival for you!
If you like great beer, great food and great music then you’ll love FyneFest. Held at Fyne Ales Brewery at the head of Loch Fyne in Argyll, this family-friendly Scottish festival in a cracker. You’ll find over 160 beers on offer, a feast of fantastic food from award-winning and local producers and live music that’s guaranteed to get you dancing, all amid stunning Highland scenery. Still need convincing? Here’s why FyneFest should be top of your 2017 festival list!

Brilliant beer
Beer is the star of the show at FyneFest. There’s something for everyone with a mix of cask and keg offerings from over 35 of the best breweries in the UK and continental Europe. Cloudwater, Magic Rock, Beavertown, Wild Beer, Thornbridge, Buxton and Hawkshead breweries are just some of the big names that will be pouring at FyneFest again this year. Head to the Main Bar for over 40 taps pouring simultaneously, the Brewers Bar & Cocktail Lounge for a specially curated selection of European beers and the Brewery Tap Room and Courtyard Bar for a wee change from the festival fields.

But it’s not all about the drinking of the beer at FyneFest. There’s plenty of beer-geekery to be enjoyed as well. 2017 will see the introduction of Brewers’ Panels where representatives from some of the UK’s leading breweries come together to talk beer and take questions. You can also take tours of Fyne Ales’ state-of-the-art brewery throughout the weekend, guided by the expert team.

Magnificent music
Bringing together the very best local and Scottish bands, the FyneFest Main Stage line-up is designed to get you dancing. Who can resist jumping about to Scotland’s ska juggernaut Bombskare? They’ll be headlining on Friday night. Other musical highlights this year include Samba Ya Bamba, Have Mercy Las Vegas and Heron Valley. You’ll find music across the festival site, including more chilled-out acoustic performers at the Tap Room Stage. See the full line-up here.

Fantastic food
After a few beers and a bit of dancing you’ll be ready to gobble some goodies. With so much great food on offer at FyneFest you are spoilt for choice. Some Food From Argyll favourites will be serving up their tasty treats including Winston Churchill’s venison sausage rolls, pies and burgers, fresh oysters from Loch Fyne Oysters and lamb stovies from The Real Mackay Stovie Co. There will be international street food on offer too from the likes of Ekeko Eats, Bowl Food and Chompsky. For your caffeine fix, look no further than Argyll-based roasters Homeground Coffee.

Amazing Argyll
FyneFest is held in the fields surrounding the brewery in Glen Fyne. It’s a beautiful spot, surrounded by hills. You can enjoy the breath-taking views from the festival site or take some time out from the beer, music and food to explore. If you’re feeling adventurous (and want to clear a groggy head) take a trip to the Walkers’ Bar. This pop-up bar in a riverside bothy is about an hour’s walk up Glen Fyne. It’s open on Saturday from12pm-4pm. Other attractions nearby include Ardkinglas Woodland Gardens and the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar. Inveraray, home to Inveraray Jail and Inveraray Castle, is a short drive away.

And finally, if you want to flex your mental muscles, then sign up for the Saturday afternoon Pub Quiz in the Brewery Tap Courtyard. Get a pint, a team of four, don your thinking cap and join in with the afternoon of trivia. If you win you’ll get a stack of tokens to spend on beer.

FyneFest takes place from 2nd to 4th June this year. FyneFest sold out last year, so we recommend you buy your tickets online soon.
