Cel Cholasa 2017

11th - 17th September
This folky festival on the Island of Colonsay is a real gem. Enjoy a friendly atmosphere, fantastic traditional music and truly beautiful surroundings.

2017 is the 10th Ceòl Cholasa, so there will be some extra events during the week, including guided walks, talks and more. The main festival runs from the 14th to 17th September.

All festivals to date have been sell-outs and the list of artists who have appeared reads like a veritable ‘who’s who’ of Scottish folk music – Aly Bain, Phil Cunningham, Karen Mathieson, Donald Shaw, Karine Polwart, Kris Drever, John McCusker, Roddy Woomble, Kathleen MacInnes, Iain MacDonald, Iain MacFarlane, Bella Hardy, Battlefield Band, Rura and Ross Martin, to name a few.

Although it attracts internationally acclaimed musicians, the atmosphere is wonderfully intimate. The local hotel also acts as the ‘Festival Club’, with live sessions unitil the small hours.
