Virginia Sumsion

Virginia Sumsion has lived in Cairndow since the 1980s. As the Marketing and Events Manager at Loch Fyne Oysters and organiser of its annual Loch Fyne Food Fair, she’s met many of Argyll’s local producers and sampled their products. Over the past ten years, she’s worked with Food From Argyll to bring the delicious tastes of Argyll to a range of festivals and events across the UK.

She says: 'What makes food from Argyll special is the passion and enthusiasm of the people who produce it, whether they grow in from scratch, on sea or land, nurture it along the way, or make it using the rich traditions and resources of the region. Here in Argyll you’re always close to the food source and as a result you get some of the freshest food you’ve ever eaten – whether it’s a langoustine straight from the sea or a pudding made in someone’s working kitchen that morning.’
