Ken Coley

Sailing
When Ken’s not working, walking his dogs, enjoying a pint or building a Scottish rowing skiff, you’ll find him on board Bowmore, his Westerly Sea Hawk. Ken’s a Yorkshireman but he’s been sailing the waters around Argyll and the Isles since he was a nipper. He loves it so much that in 2001 he upped sticks and moved to Tighnabruaich on Argyll’s Secret Coast with his family. In his posts, Ken shares some of his favourite sails, anchorages and sights – helping you explore the coastline of Argyll and the Isles like a local.

He says: ‘Argyll and The Isles is, without doubt, one of the best water-based playgrounds in Europe. With over 2,300 miles of stunning coastline surrounded by relatively deep water and a lifetime's worth of safe anchorages to visit, sailing here is an unforgettable experience. Sadly many people don’t get to see Argyll from the water and they’ve no idea what they’re missing! Free of midges and usually sunnier, the water, as far as I’m concerned, is the place to be.’
