Flanked by Loch Long and Loch Fyne, the Cowal Peninsula is a rich landscape of contrasts, ranging from the towering Munros of the north to the mellow scenery and seaside villages of the south. Only an hour from Glasgow, it offers a tantalising taste of the Highlands. Paddle steamers used to bring throngs of Glaswegian holidaymakers ‘doon the watter’ to its shores.

Stunning stretches of water characterise the area’s coastline, from sparkling sea lochs to the enchanting Kyles of Bute. Argyll Forest Park spreads across much of Cowal, providing an unbeatable outdoor playground, with plenty of opportunity for adventure as well as gentle woodland strolls. Breath-taking beaches, awe-inspiring wildlife and glorious gardens all await you in Cowal.
