Sailing & boating

Set a course for Argyll and the Isles for some of the best sailing waters in not only in Britain, but in the world. With fabulous and varied coastal scenery, wildlife galore and excellent shore-side facilities, you could spend many happy seasons exploring the islands, inlets and secret coves by boat.

From the sheltered waters and silent anchorages of the Kyles of Bute to the historic Crinan Canal and the islands beyond, this is Scottish sailing at its most spectacular. What’s more, there’s something for all levels. Novices can learn at one of the region’s many sailing schools while the more experienced can take to the high seas for the adventure of a lifetime. Work your way around the coast, stopping off at the many marinas, pontoons and hotel moorings to enjoy time ashore.

Sail Scotland is a great resource for sailors, Malin Waters is full of information about sailing and other water-based activities on the west coast of Scotland and Scottish Anchorages is packed with great stuff about anchorages.
