Bonawe Historic Iron Furnace

Once a place of fire and fury, the most complete charcoal-fuelled ironworks in Britain are now tranquil. Step inside the stone furnace complex and storage buildings of this pioneering 18th-century site and discover the Highlands’ role in the Industrial Revolution. The furnace only ceased firing in 1870. Displays bring the industrial heritage of the area to life and illustrate how pig iron was made.

Open summer only. Adult £5 Child £3 Concession £4
