Bruichladdich Distillery

Bruichladdich Distillery sits on the shore of Loch Lindal on the west of the island.

Built in 1881 by the Harvey brothers, the original building was considered state-of the-art for its time, developed from old farm buildings and constructed around a spacious courtyard. Much of the Victorian décor and equipment has been preserved including the original ‘open’ 7-tonne machtun, one of only a handful still in existence.
