Historic Kilmun

Not ten minutes from Dunoon, on the shores of the Holy Loch Nature Reserve, lies Historic Kilmun - final resting place of the Campbell Chiefs for over 500 years.

Visit the newly renovated Campbell Mausoleum with its beautiful 15th-century effigies and great cast iron dome. See the glorious Stephen Adam stained glass of the present Victorian Church. See the newly discovered 7th-century gravestone. Take a tour with Blue Badge trained guides and listen to tales of burnings, beheadings, body-snatchers ... and so much more. And why not enjoy a cuppa in the wee coffee shop, too?

Entry is £2.50. Open May-Oct, Thurs-Sat, 10am -4pm. For visits outside those times, call 07501 764 059.
