Fire Tower Trails

The Fire Tower Trails on the outskirts of Lochgilphead offer a fantastic mountain biking experience. The route is a network of single track sections linked by forest roads, so you can make up your own route and do as much or as little as you like. Do it all and you’ll rack up 12 miles (19.5 km) of riding, with more than 4½ miles (7.4 km) of single track. The single track is red graded, with a couple of optional – and very challenging – black graded sections.

The trail includes big climbs and descents along with spectacular views of the islands of Jura, Scarba and the Gulf of Corryvreckan.

The Fire Tower Trail has been recently upgraded in most places and is now open for use. Murder Hill and down Kev's Chicane to the forest road is the last section which is still closed and will be due to re-open in 2015.

You can download a PDF leaflet about the Firetower Trails here.
