Balnakailly Loop

This lovely short walk in Bute Forest passes through oak woodland to a stunning viewpoint at the most northern part of the island. It's a great spot to enjoy a picnic as the Kyles of Bute stretch out before you.

You’ll find a whole variety of wild flowers, ferns, mosses, lichens, fungi and animals depending on the time of year that you visit. On your way, you’ll pass the Balnakailly settlement, the remains of a farmhouse and a peaceful, sheltered area.
