Oban to Campbeltown Cycle

The National Cycle Network from Oban to Campbeltown, part of route 78, offers cyclists the chance to explore Kintyre, Knapdale and Lorn. It's a challenging, mostly on-road, 120-mile route takes in stunning scenery, with fantastic views of the Jura and Arran. An extensive network of forest trails provides further cycling opportunities in the area.

You can reach the route by train at Oban and Taynuilt. There's also a network of ferries that run to and from Kintyre if you fancy doing a bit of island hopping.

The route links with the Oban to Fort William cycle route. By 2016 it will run to Inverness, forming the 228-mile Cambeltown to Inverness Caledonia Way.

The National Cycle Network from Oban to Campbeltown offers adventurous cyclists the chance to explore the spectacular peninsula of Kintyre, Knapdale and Lorn.
