Heart of Argyll Wildlife Organisation

Visit the Heart of Argyll Wildlife Organisation at its new visitor centre at Barr an Daimh (opening April 2017) and find out about the fantastic variety of wildlife the Mid Argyll area has to offer. It provides an Environmental Interpretation Officer (Ranger) service within Knapdale and its surrounding area offering wildlife guided walks and themed events throughout the season.

Discover the natural beauty, wildlife and biodiversity of Mid Argyll and help conserve it for future generations. The area's stunning scenery of hills, woodlands and coastlines and the huge variety of species that can be seen here is a must see. All of Scotland’s ‘Big Five’ live here - red deer, red squirrel, golden eagle, otter and harbour seal, as well as so much more! You can add white tailed sea eagles, osprey, pine marten and a huge variety of flora and marine life to the list. Plus of course, being situated in Knapdale, it's in the heart of beaver country and the home of the Scottish Beaver Trial. Get all the latest news on the beavers' activities, and, even better, see what they’ve been up to and get the best chance of seeing one!

Heart of Argyll Wildlife Organisation run events and guided walks throughout the year.
