Wild Islay Birding

Wild Islay Birding offers wildlife and birdwatching on the beautiful Hebridean island of Islay. Enjoy Islay’s abundant wildlife and beautiful scenery on a guided tour of the island.

Choose from full and half day tours where Gary, your guide, will introduce you to some of the amazing wildlife Islay has to offer. See many species of birds including hen harriers, chough various divers, waders and small birds around the island. In spring and summer, it's possible to see osprey and corncrake In the winter, tens of thousands of geese visit from the cold north. The most majestic of birds, golden & white-tailed eagles can be seen on Islay.

There are beautiful beaches, stunning wildflower grasslands and woodlands to explore for island wildlife. Look out for red, roe and fallow deer. Travel to some secluded spots to spot basking seals and the elusive otter. These are not always guaranteed, but they are often seen if you know where to look.
